New Delhi, January 19 (IANS). Candidates of all parties are busy trying to woo voters for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Congress candidate from Bijwasan assembly seat Devendra Sehrawat is also continuously meeting people in his area and gathering public support.
While talking to IANS, he said that I am confident that the public will support him. The people here have decided whom to send to the assembly.
After filing nomination on January 17, he had said that the graph of Aam Aadmi Party has come to the ground. Aam Aadmi Party was formed from Congress voters. But now gradually everyone is returning to Congress.
Congress had to face a crushing defeat in the 2020 assembly elections in Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party had won 62 seats. Whereas, BJP managed to win 8 seats. The 2015 assembly elections were also not good for Congress. Even in this election, Congress was not successful in winning even a single seat. Aam Aadmi Party won 67 seats. BJP candidates won on three seats. Congress remained at zero in this election also.
However, Congress claims that this time there will be better results compared to the previous assembly elections. Because, this time Congress has done good work at the grassroots level. This time Congress has also made those people its candidates, who have left other parties like Aam Aadmi Party and joined Congress. In Delhi, Congress also took out Nyaya Yatra in 70 assembly constituencies. It remains to be seen what impact this visit has on the assembly elections.
Let us tell you that voting is to be held on 70 seats for Delhi Assembly elections on 5th February. The result will be declared on 8th February.
