The Congress on Thursday accused the RSS and BJP of being “anti -constitution” after the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh general secretary Dattatreya Hosbole called for reviewing the words “socialist” and “secular”.
The Congress said in a post written in Hindi that it will never let the ‘conspiracy of BJP-RSS’ succeed and oppose any such step.
The Congress said in a post on X, “RSS-BJP thinking is anti-constitutional. Now RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosbole has demanded a change in the preamble of the Constitution.”
The party claimed that Hosbole wanted the preamble to remove the words “socialist” and “secular”.
The Congress said, “This is a conspiracy to destroy Baba Saheb’s constitution, which the RSS-BJP has been creating for a long time.”
The opposition party claimed that when the constitution was implemented, the RSS opposed it and lit copies of it. He said, “In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP leaders were openly saying that they need more than 400 seats in Parliament to change the constitution, but the public taught them a lesson.
The Congress said, “Now once again they are engaged in their conspiracies, but the Congress will not allow their intentions to succeed at any cost. Hail to the Constitution.”
The ruling BJP’s ideological guide RSS on Thursday called for reviewing the words “socialist” and “secular” in the preface of the Constitution and said that they were added during the Emergency and they were ever BR. There were no part of the constitution prepared by Ambedkar.
Addressing an event organized on the Emergency, Hosbole said, “Baba Saheb Ambedkar had never kept these words in the preamble of the Constitution. During the Emergency, when fundamental rights were suspended, Parliament was not working, the judiciary was lame, then these words were added.”
He said that this issue was later discussed, but no attempt was made to remove them from the preamble. He said, “Therefore it should be considered whether they should be kept in the preamble or not.”
