NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan on Wednesday filed his nomination papers for the Vice Presidential election in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior leaders.
Along with Radhakrishnan and senior NDA leaders, Modi handed over four sets of nomination papers to Rajya Sabha General Secretary PC Modi, who is an election officer for the Vice Presidential election.
Modi, Singh, Shah and JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh are the main proposer in four sets of nomination papers.
The Election Officer examined the nomination papers, after which Radhakrishnan signed a register. After this, the Election Officer handed over an acknowledgment slip of nomination papers to the Prime Minister.
Modi, Shah, senior ministers Prahlad Joshi, Dharmendra Pradhan and other NDA leaders, including TDP leader and Union Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu, Shiv Sena leader Shrikant Shinde and LJPSP leader Chirag Paswan, took Radhakrishnan to the Returning Officer’s office in Parliament.
Earlier, Radhakrishnan paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and other national leaders at the inspiration in the Parliament complex, where statues of prestigious personalities are located.
Radhakrishnan, who is almost certain to be selected as the Vice President, was also present with Union Minister and other leaders of the BJP -led coalition.
