Rohini MLA Vijendra Gupta has been named BJP candidate for the post of Delhi Assembly Speaker. Party leaders gave this information on Thursday. It is believed that Mohan Singh Bisht can be made deputy speaker.
Confirming his nomination by the party, Gupta told PTI, “I will first present the CAG report in the House, which the previous AAP government kept pending.”
The AAP MLA, who became an MLA for the third time from Rohini, had first approached the court with other BJP MLAs and alleged that the AAP government was preventing 14 reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on its functioning.
Vijendra Gupta, the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, is an MLA from Rohini. He defeated Pradeep Mittal of Aam Aadmi Party and won the assembly seat with more than 37 thousand votes. Gupta has also been the President of Delhi BJP, member of the Delhi Development Authority and former Chairman of the Standing Committee of MCD.
Let me tell you that Mohan Singh Bisht of BJP defeated AAP Ahmed Khan by more than 17 thousand votes. Bisht has been a five -time MLA from Karawal Nagar assembly constituency.
This is his sixth win from Mustafabad assembly constituency. Since 1998, whenever he contested, he has won continuously. He lost to Kapil Mishra of BJP only once in 2015.
Meanwhile, BJP’s Shalimar Bagh MLA Rekha Gupta will take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi today. Gupta has served as General Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi and a member of its National Executive Committee. In these roles, he launched several campaigns for the welfare of marginalized communities and women.
Speaking to ANI on Thursday, the nominated Chief Minister said, “This is a miracle, it is a new inspiration and a new chapter. If I can become the Chief Minister, it means that the ways are open for all women … Anyone who is corrupt will have to give an account of one rupee each. “
Along with Rekha Gupta, six other ministers including Parvesh Sahib Singh (Deputy CM), Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh will take over.
She will be the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi, who will replace you with your fire. In the national capital, BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have been women Chief Ministers.
The BJP is forming a government in the national capital after 27 years.
In the assembly elections held earlier this month, the BJP won 48 out of 70 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party could win only 22 seats. The Congress could not even open its account in the third consecutive election.
