During the ongoing discussion on Operation Sindoor in the Rajya Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah strongly responded to the allegations made by the opposition. He mentioned Operation Mahadev in his address, in which the army abolished the terrorists of the Pahalgam attack. During this time, the Opposition continued to demand Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be called to the House, which increased the ecstasy in the House.
Amidst the noise of the opposition, Amit Shah reacted sharply and said, “Is the Prime Minister very fond of listening to me? Tackling me first, where will you call the PM.” This answer proved to be a shock to the opposition and they erupted. Then Mallikarjun Kharge stood up and said that the Prime Minister’s absence in the House is an insult to Parliament. The opposition then walked out of the House.
Amit Shah told the House to demand the Prime Minister’s reply that the Prime Minister is present in his office. On this, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said that if the Prime Minister does not come to the House despite being in the Parliament complex, then it is a violation of the dignity of the House.
Amit Shah expressed condolences to the citizens killed in the Pahalgam attack and said that the terrorists killed innocent citizens by asking religion. He also expressed deep condolences to the families of the citizens who died in Pakistan’s firing after Operation Sindoor.
Amit Shah, while attacking the opposition, said that those who are raising questions about the name of Operation Mahadev do not understand the importance of ‘Har-Har Mahadev’. This is not just a religious slogan, but the war of Shivaji Maharaj’s army was a wargnation and symbolizes the attack on India’s sovereignty. This is not the naming of the BJP, but is part of the announcement of many army regiments. It should not be seen from the perspective of Hindu-Muslim politics.
On the opposition who walked out, Amit Shah tightened up that he was running away from the debate because for decades, he did not take concrete steps against terrorism in vote bank politics. So they are not in a position to listen or tolerate this debate. He also reprimanded those who questioned the timing of Operation Mahadev.
