Delay in resolving public grievances will be costly, compromise on security is not acceptable: CM Yogi

Lucknow, September 15 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave necessary guidelines in a meeting on Sunday regarding ensuring development works, law and order and arrangements in view of the upcoming festivals. All divisional commissioners, district magistrates, additional director general of police (zone), all police commissioners, Inspector General of Police (range), Deputy Inspector General of Police (zone) were present in the meeting.

In the meeting, CM Yogi said that delay in resolving public grievances will cost heavily. If a false report is filed, disciplinary action is certain. He said that the District Magistrate should review the arrangements of tehsils, Divisional Commissioner should review the arrangements of districts. Review why the applications of the common man are pending and fix accountability and inform the report to your senior officer. He said that every district is being reviewed every day at the government level. The activities of all the officers are being directly monitored.

He said that compromise on the safety of mothers, sisters and daughters is not acceptable. Immediate action should be taken on information of love jihad, chain snatching, eve teasing. Keep women police beat officers active. Continue patrolling. Accountability should be fixed for such incidents, from the beat constable to the deputy SP. Every district is being reviewed every day at the government level. Every incident in the districts, every officer’s activity is being monitored. Similar efforts should be made by zone and range level officers in the areas under their charge. The police commissioner should give a report of his commissionerate to the DGP every day.

He said that whether it is the application received in IGRS or the complainants who reach CM Helpline or police station/tehsil/development block, everyone should be heard. Understand the state of mind of the victim/troubled person, respect his feelings and the solution should be found with full sensitivity. The satisfaction of the complainant and his feedback will be the standard of performance of the officers. The applications related to public complaints/problems have to be resolved satisfactorily. Disciplinary action is sure to be taken against those who file false or misleading reports.

He said that in recent times, incidents of collapse of dilapidated buildings have occurred at many places. Municipal bodies and development authorities should run a campaign to mark sensitive buildings in their area and motivate people to move to safer places.
