New Delhi, November 10 (IANS). An important meeting of the Delhi Government Cabinet was held on Sunday. In this meeting, reinstatement of 10,000 bus marshals was recommended. Delhi government says that now this proposal will be sent to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi for approval.
Delhi government said in this regard that the cabinet meeting was held in Delhi Secretariat on Sunday. A report was submitted to Chief Minister Atishi in the Delhi Government Cabinet meeting. This report has recommended reinstating marshals in buses with immediate effect.
Delhi government says that 10,000 marshals will be re-installed in buses. This cabinet proposal will be sent to LG. Delhi government says that with this step, 10,000 bus marshals in Delhi will be able to get employment.
Earlier, Chief Minister Atishi had said that the Delhi government has approved the appointment of 10,000 marshals. Bus marshals will also play an important role in the war against pollution for the next 4 months.
According to Atishi, the role of bus marshals will range from monitoring pollution hotspots to stopping open burning. The Chief Minister says that the process of appointment of bus marshals will start from Monday. Delhi government is sending the proposal for permanent appointment of bus marshals to the Lieutenant Governor. In the year 2017-18, the Delhi government had deployed bus marshals to provide security to women in Delhi buses.
The Chief Minister says that the people of Delhi saw the proof of the security provided to women, elderly and children by the appointment of marshals in buses. Marshals have stopped misbehavior with women in the bus. BJP does not care about the safety of women, elderly and children. 10,000 youth from poor homes got the job of marshal, but BJP did not like it. The BJP, through a conspiracy and through its officers, had stopped the salaries of these bus marshals from April 2023.
