Delhi Election 2025 : Political activity regarding the Assembly has intensified in Delhi. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena has filed her nomination from Kalkaji assembly constituency. However, another woman has filed her nomination from Aam Aadmi Party, whose name is Rekha.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday filed her nomination from Kalkaji constituency for the Delhi Assembly elections. He filed his nomination papers at the District Magistrate (DM) office in Lajpat Nagar. Although Atishi was supposed to file her nomination after the road show on Monday, she could not reach the DM office before the 3 pm deadline due to the delay due to the road show.

Rekha filed nomination from Aam Aadmi Party

Another woman from Kalkaji has also filed nomination papers from Aam Aadmi Party. According to the affidavit, a woman named Rekha has also filed nomination from Aam Aadmi Party, her age is 46 years. She is a resident of Govindpuri, Kalkaji Delhi.

Congress fielded Alka Lamba

Meanwhile, Congress candidate Alka Lamba filed her nomination from Kalkaji assembly seat. Alka Lamba had contested the 2015 elections on AAP ticket. He had won from Chandni Chowk by a huge margin of more than 24 percent. However, in 2019, she left AAP and joined Congress, but was disqualified by the Delhi Assembly Speaker for violating party switching rules. In the 2020 assembly elections, Lamba again contested from the same seat on a Congress ticket, but lost to AAP candidate Parlad Singh Sahni by a huge margin of more than 50 percent. Whereas, Ramesh Vidhuri from BJP has filed nomination from Kalkaji. In such a situation, a tough competition is expected on this seat.

Aam Aadmi Party’s dominance in Kalkaji seat

Let us tell you that Aam Aadmi Party has dominated the Kalkaji assembly seat. Here in 2015, Avtar Singh of Aam Aadmi Party won the election and in 2020, Atishi won the election. He had defeated Dharambir of BJP. However, Atishi had to face defeat from East Delhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The total number of voters in Kalkaji region is 1,94,515, of which 1,06,893 are male and 87,617 are female.
