After Haryana and Maharashtra, the party has now faced a crushing defeat in Delhi. Taking lessons from the continuous defeat, the party is now preparing for a big reshuffle. It is believed that many changes will be made in the party by the end of this month to strengthen the organization.
Informed sources say that changes were to be made at the organization level only after the Lok Sabha elections in the Congress, but it was postponed due to the elections of the states. The party’s leadership is no longer in the mood to delay it after a crushing defeat in the Delhi assembly elections. A strategy has been prepared to strengthen the organization through reshuffle. Now it is ready to implement it soon.
Rahul Gandhi and Kharge’s strategy in conversation
The recent Delhi Assembly election results have been very disappointing for the Congress. The party has failed to open its account in the third consecutive assembly elections and the party has imposed zero hat -trick. In such a situation, the exercise to make a big change in the organization has been started. Sources say that there have been several rounds of talks between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge to change the organization.
The party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal has also been involved in the discussion between the two leaders. To strengthen the Congress, there can now be a structural change in the organization. According to sources, the work of the organization general secretary can be divided into three parts. Different leaders will be entrusted with the responsibility for the three parts. Venugopal is considered close to Rahul Gandhi but this step will reduce his strength.
New general secretaries and in -charge will be deployed
Half a dozen new general secretaries can be appointed at the party to strengthen the organization. Along with the holiday of some general secretaries, some states with charge of some will also be changed. In -charge of Rajasthan, Haryana, Telangana, Bihar, Assam and Punjab can be changed. Along with this, there is also a preparation to change the state president in at least eight states. It has also been started with a change in Odisha.
In Karnataka, DK Shivkumar has also held the responsibility of the post of president along with the post of Deputy CM. A new president can be appointed here. Gaurav Gogoi can be given command in Assam. There is a preparation for the deployment of new state presidents in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. The charge of Jharkhand can be withdrawn from Ghulam Ahmed Mir.
Priyanka Gandhi’s role will also change
Currently, Priyanka Gandhi is working as the general secretary of the party but she does not have the responsibility of any state. In such a situation, it is believed that Priyanka Gandhi can be given the charge of a big state. Leaders like Srinivas Biwi, Ajay Kumar Lallu, Pargat Singh, Jignesh Mevani, Meenakshi Natarajan, BK Hariprasad and Ganesh Godiyal can also be entrusted with the responsibility in the organization.
Being close to Rahul Gandhi, Venugopal is considered very strong but recently he has been made the chairman of the Loklekha Samiti of Parliament. In such a situation, discussions of changing them are also being heard. Priyanka Gandhi, Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel and Randeep Surjewala can be given the responsibility in their place. By the way, Rahul Gandhi has to take the final decision in this regard. Experts say that after the defeat of Delhi, there is a deep churning in the party and big steps will be taken soon.
