Voting will be held today for the Delhi assembly elections. In all 70 seats, 1.56 crore voters will decide the fate of 699 candidates. Voting will start at 7 am and will run till 6:30 pm. The Election Commission has set up 13766 centers for voting. 220 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure voting.

35626 Delhi Police personnel and 19000 home guards have been deployed for the election. The Haryana government has also announced a decoration holiday in all public offices, educational institutions, boards and corporations on 5 February. The purpose of giving leave is to provide voting facility to employees who are registered voters in Delhi. They can vote in elections.

Delhi’s borders have been sealed. Every visiting person is being investigated. Many levels of security have been made at polling stations. Employees have reached polling stations by Tuesday evening. 80 thousand security personnel have been deployed at different places in Delhi. Out of these, 45 thousand employees have been deployed at polling stations. The police is also monitoring social media. 70 companies of armed police have been deployed from other states.
3193 booths have been declared sensitive in the capital. These booths will be monitored with 42 drones. ACP, Inspector level officials have also been deployed at polling stations. 52 thousand cameras have been installed to protect the centers. Special arrangements have been made for senior citizens and disabled. 733 centers have been specially created for them. 7553 people were given privileges to vote from home, of which 6980 cast their votes.
This time there is a possibility of a triangular contest between BJP, AAP and Congress in Delhi. Metro and DTC buses will run at 4 am to help the voters. Metro services will be available every 30 minutes till 6 pm. After this regular services will start. At the same time, government offices, banks, private institutions and schools, colleges will remain closed, only essential services will be exempted. There are also orders to close liquor shops from 3 to 5 February. Contracts will also be closed in Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, bordering Delhi. This ban will remain in force till 6 pm on 5 February.
On February 8, contracts will be closed on the day of counting. More than 21500 ballot units and VVPATs have been prepared for the election. This time Delhi has 83.76 lakh men, 72.36 lakh women and 1267 third gender voters. Exit polls will be released shortly after the voting ends. The results of the Delhi Assembly elections will be declared on 8 February.
