New Delhi, January 14 (IANS). Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi filed her nomination on Tuesday. After filing nomination, he attacked BJP and Congress and said that there is a lot of competition going on between the two.
After the nomination, Atishi said that first of all, many congratulations to all the countrymen on Makar Sankranti and today on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti which marks the beginning of the new year, I have filled my nomination form from Kalkaji Assembly. I have received a lot of love from the people of Kalkaji, from the elders, women and children and hope that it will continue to be received in the coming five years.
Attacking Pravesh Verma, he said that the whole world saw it, all the TV channels played it live, women came on TV and said that we were given Rs 1,100 to press the lotus button. A few days later, Pravesh Verma ji posts a photo that he is running a health camp and distributing spectacles. After that he is distributing bedsheets and double bed sheets in Kidwai Nagar area, that too with posters of his name. The Election Commission does not see any violation of the code of conduct in it. They are openly distributing money, distributing glasses, openly distributing bedsheets. The question arises that with whom is the police?
Atishi said that the question arises whether the election officers at the lower level are under pressure. We have repeatedly gone to the Election Commission. The Election Commission has given us a commitment for a free and fair election and we hope that the commitment given by the Election Commission will actually be realized on the ground.
He further said that otherwise the question will arise that investigation is going on against Pravesh Verma ji for distributing money and spectacles and yet an FIR has been lodged against me without any investigation. He also attacked Congress and said how Congress candidates Sandeep Dixit go to file complaints against Arvind Kejriwal. Our MLAs have to wait for several days to get an appointment with the LG. Appointment is not available. LG Saheb does not give time to Delhi MLAs. Whereas, if Sandeep Dixit’s complaint is received and action is taken, then what is happening? It is quite clear that a jugalbandhi is going on between the candidates of Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party.
