The campaign for the Delhi assembly elections will end at 5 pm on Monday. At the same time, all the parties have burnt their lives on the last day of campaigning for the February 5 election battle.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has created a program to do 22 road shows and rallies in the entire Delhi on the last day of campaigning, intensifying its efforts to gain power in the national capital after more than 25 years.
On the other hand, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seems confident about gaining power for the third consecutive time, relying on the model of its free welfare schemes.
In the national capital, the Congress, which has taken 15 years of power in the national capital till 2013, could not win a single seat in the last two elections, so it is trying to strengthen itself at the ground level.
In this election battle, political parties used rhetoric to target each other, as well as a poster prepared from Artificial Medha (Artificial Intelligence-AI) and tried to help the public through road shows.
According to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) of the Election Commission, all public meetings, election related programs and campaigns should definitely be closed 48 hours before the voting. According to the Election Commission, the spread of promotional materials through cinema, TV and print media is also banned during this period.
This election also saw a war between various political parties. While ‘AAP’ called BJP a ‘Bharatiya lie party’ and ‘abusive party’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi retaliated by calling ‘AAP’ as ‘AAP’ and its chief Arvind Kejriwal as ‘announcement minister’.
The Congress, who is trying to return to Delhi politics, used words like ‘fake’ for Kejriwal and Modi’s ‘small recharge’. With the dominance of ‘MIMS’ and digital campaigns made from AI, Delhi’s election battle reached a different level this time.
According to data from Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), 1.56 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise at 13,766 polling stations on February 5.
Of these, 83.76 lakh are men, 72.36 lakh women and 1,267 are voters of ‘Third Gender’. To make the polling process smooth, 733 polling stations have been set for the disabled.
The Election Commission has also launched the ‘Q Management System’ (QMS) application for the first time in India, so that voters can find out the presence of people according to real-time at polling stations through the ‘Delhi Election-2025 QMS’ app.
For senior citizens and disabled people, 6,980 out of 7,553 eligible voters have already cast their votes as part of polling facilities. The service started from January 24, which will continue till February 4.
To ensure independent and fair elections, 220 companies of paramilitary forces, 19,000 home guards and 35,626 personnel of Delhi Police will be deployed.
Apart from this, 21,584 ballot units, 20,692 control units and 18,943 voter verified paper audit trails (VVPATs) have been prepared including provisions of ‘dummy’ and blers ballot papers.
‘AAP’ won 67 out of 70 seats in 2015, while the BJP got only three seats and did not even open the Congress account.
AAP maintained its dominance with 62 seats in 2020, while the BJP won eight seats and the Congress once again failed to open its account.
