On Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of Chief Minister. Earlier, a meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party’s legislative party was held in which Atishi was unanimously elected as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. The President has accepted Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation. Delhi will get a new Chief Minister in the form of Atishi today i.e. on 21 September.
Trust will remain on old faces only
According to the rules, there can be seven ministers in Delhi. There is talk of ministers in Atishi’s cabinet being included in those who were in Kejriwal’s tenure. It is being said that new ministers will not be trusted because assembly elections are to be held in Delhi in February. In such a situation, if a new face is taken in the cabinet, it will take him three to four months to understand the work. Therefore, it is believed that the ministers who were in the Kejriwal cabinet will also be in Atishi’s cabinet.
According to official sources, Atishi will take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi today i.e. on 21st September at 4:30 pm at Raj Bhavan. Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena will administer the oath of CM to her.
Many leaders including Kejriwal and Sisodia will participate
Along with Atishi, five Aam Aadmi Party MLAs Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat will also take oath.
