Delhi Politics: In politics, tricks are very important. Not only this, history is often repeated in politics. But it cannot be denied that sometimes new history is also created. Even tricks are broken. Now this thing needs to be seen after the new name of the Chief Minister of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal has made Atishi the new Chief Minister of Delhi. But history is witness that whenever a leader has resigned under pressure or circumstances and handed over the chair of Chief Minister to a politician outside his family, the party supremo has had to face problems. Problems have emerged in the party.
When Nitish expressed confidence in Manjhi
Today’s Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar made Jitan Ram Manjhi the Chief Minister to set his political equations right. He thought that he would be able to run a strong government through the extremely Dalit extremely backward equation. As a result, Nitish Kumar honoured Manjhi as the 23rd Chief Minister of Bihar. Not only this, he also created history by becoming the third Dalit Chief Minister in the state of Bihar. After being the Chief Minister for ten months, when he had to resign from the post of Chief Minister on 20 February 2015, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s attitude was irritating for Nitish Kumar. The limit was that instead of resigning from the post for Nitish Kumar, he thought it better to prove majority in the House. However, due to not being able to prove majority, Manjhi had to resign. Due to this stand of his, the party also showed him the way out. In a political career of 43 years, Manjhi also took refuge and leave in many parties. He started his innings with Congress. But later he was with Janata Dal, RJD, JDU and today he is with BJP.
Manjhi entered politics after leaving his job. He was elected MLA for the first time in 1980. After this, he was elected MLA in 1990 and 1996 also. In 2005, he was elected to Bihar Legislative Assembly from Barachatti. He was Deputy Minister in Bihar Government from 1983 to 1985, Minister of State from 1985 to 1988 and again from 1998 to 2000. He became a Cabinet Minister in 2008. He also formed his own party.
Father’s companion was made CM but…
Considering him as a troubleshooter in his time of crisis, Hemant Soren made his father’s colleague Champai Soren the seventh Chief Minister of Jharkhand. He held the post of Chief Minister from 2 February 2024 to 3 July 2024. This was the period when Hemant Soren had to go to jail in a money laundering case. Due to going to jail, Hemant Soren resigned from the post of Chief Minister. Whereas Arvind Kejriwal did not like his resignation even while in jail. He ran his government from jail itself. After Hemant Soren came out of jail, when he took oath as Chief Minister again, Champai Soren was once again awarded the post of Cabinet Minister. Champai Soren was also an MLA twice in the United Bihar Legislative Assembly. He is a seven-time MLA. He was first elected MLA from Saraikela in 1991. Champai Soren joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha during the movement for a separate state of Jharkhand. But after coming out of jail, Champai Soren did not like the cabinet position with Hemant Soren. As a result, he joined the BJP recently. It remains to be seen how much BJP benefits from Champai Soren in the upcoming elections of Jharkhand.
The relationship between Guru and disciple will remain intact!
Atishi is considered to be a confidant of Arvind Kejriwal as well as Manish Sisodia. She is considered to be the most powerful minister in the Delhi government. When Arvind Kejriwal authorized Atishi to hoist the flag on Independence Day while he was in jail, Atishi’s importance was realized then. Atishi was born on 8 June 1981 in the house of Delhi University professor Vijay Singh and Tript Vahi. She completed her schooling from Springdale School in Delhi. She studied history at St. Stephen’s College in Delhi. She went to England for further studies.
On receiving the Chevening Scholarship, she obtained a master’s degree from Oxford University. Later, she obtained her second master’s degree in educational research from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. Later, she spent seven years in a small village in Madhya Pradesh to gain knowledge about organic farming and progressive education systems. While working with non-profit organizations, she met some members who were associated with the Aam Aadmi Party. AAP contested the Delhi Assembly elections for the first time in 2013. At that time Atishi was a key member of the party’s manifesto drafting committee. As an AAP spokesperson, she has also played an important role in strengthening the party and clarifying the party’s policies. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, she contested from the East Delhi Lok Sabha seat. But she had to face defeat from BJP candidate and cricketer Gautam Gambhir.

Her arrival has increased AAP’s hopes of polarization of Punjabi votes. Punjabi voters are around 30 percent in Delhi. But along with this, it has become important to keep an eye on whether Atishi repeats history or creates a new history.
