New Delhi, October 3 (IANS). Congress had started the election campaign in Haryana with full vigor, but gradually the infighting within the party came out openly in front of the people.
On one side was the camp of senior party leader and former Chief Minister of the state Bhupendra Singh Hooda and on the other side were the supporters of Randeep Surjewala. Above all, the person whose displeasure has been discussed the most within the Congress party is MP Kumari Selja. Whose camp was seen in a different style during this election.
BJP also kept repeating the issue raised by Kumari Shailja again and again and also kept telling the public that a party which does not respect its Dalit leader, how will that party respect the Dalits of the state.
Even after all this, if all the Congress leaders were together on the stage, they would have claimed that there was no difference of opinion among them. Everyone is standing with the party. But, later everyone’s statements did not match each other.
Kumari Shailaja’s displeasure with the party was evident from the fact that she was out of the scene for almost the entire first week of the start of the election campaign. However, she later joined the party’s campaign. But, that kind of enthusiasm was rarely seen within him. However, Rahul Gandhi had definitely tried to give the message of unity of the party by joining hands of Kumari Shailaja and Bhupendra Singh Hooda from the stage.
Nevertheless, in a media interview, Kumari Shailja expressed her hidden anger.
Actually, Kumari Shailja is angry with the dominance of Bhupendra Singh Hooda camp in the distribution of party tickets in the assembly elections. He admitted in this interview that he does not talk to Bhupendra Hooda. He clearly said that when he was PCC Chief, he used to talk to her, but now he has not had any talk to her.
Now news came that on the last day of assembly election campaign in Haryana, Kumari Shailaja reached to meet senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi at her residence and the meeting between them lasted for 30 minutes.
Kumari Shailja had reached 10 Janpath alone to meet Sonia Gandhi. In such a situation, special significance is being extracted from this meeting.
In fact, even after Kumari Shailja started election campaigning after the resentment in Haryana, her anger with former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda did not seem to subside.
However, no information has come out yet about the conversation that took place between Sonia Gandhi and Kumari Shailja. But, political experts believe that Sonia Gandhi must have assured him of maintaining unity in the party and getting an important role in the future from the party.
At a time when news of tussle within the state Congress is coming to the fore, this meeting is being considered really important and people are starting to speculate whether this meeting has given some indication to Bhupendra Hooda. In such a situation, this meeting has given further fuel to the ongoing speculations within the Congress regarding the post of Chief Minister.
