Senior DMK leader A Raja said here on Monday that his party is not afraid of ‘ordinary people’ like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his party’s ideology would not allow BJP to set foot in Tamil Nadu.
Addressing a press conference here in response to the criticism of the ruling DMK in Madurai on Sunday, Raja claimed that the BJP leader’s comments on various issues are ‘sheer lies, disgusting and divisive’.
The Lok Sabha member said that BJP cannot set foot in Tamil Nadu unlike Delhi or Maharashtra, where assembly elections are to be held next year, as the Dravidian ideology is opposed to saffron ideology.
He cited the Dravidian philosophy, saying, “(AAP chief) Arvind Kejriwal (in Delhi) – He only opposed corruption, did he have any ideology, was there any leader behind him. We are not afraid of Amit Shah and Modi. After all, they are ordinary people. The political ideology behind them is attacking and winning everywhere, but why is she not winning here. Because we have an alternative to that ideology. ”
He said, “As long as there is a Dravidian ideology, they cannot set foot in Tamil Nadu. We are not Delhi, Maharashtra and Haryana. We are Tamil Nadu, we are Dravid, (BJP) cannot come here. ”
Shah said on Sunday that the NDA will form the government in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal next year and he targeted the DMK government in the state by making new allegations of corruption, including sand mining scam worth Rs 4,600 crore.
The BJP is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.
Raja said that what Shah said in Madurai, DMK can prove his word wrong and the people of Tamil Nadu will not accept such things of BJP leader.
Raja claimed, “His comments do not suit the post of Union Home Minister.” In short, whatever he said, it was sheer lies, disgusting and divisive. ”
He said that the Union Minister has made ‘baseless allegations’ against the state government. He said, “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has maintained law and order and despite not being available central funds on several occasions, implemented development schemes from the State Fund quickly and due to not being able to digest this, the Center and BJP brought Shah to Tamil Nadu.”
He also targeted the Center on issues including proposed caste census and delimitation.
