Lucknow, January 21 (IANS). Under the unique initiative of Yogi government, the echo of patriotic poems is being heard among more than 1.40 crore children in more than 1.33 lakh council schools of the state. The top students will be awarded in this poetry recitation competition organized with the aim of developing the spirit of creativity and patriotism among the students. 10-10 students selected on the basis of excellence in the presentations being held from school to state level will be honored in district level and state level functions.
Under the National Education Policy, the Yogi government has organized this competition with the aim of encouraging creativity, reasoning ability and sense of patriotism among the students. The best participants from school level to state level will be honored through the selection process.
Yogi government has issued special instructions to make the selection process of the competition transparent and fair. Instructions have been given to the concerned headmasters and teachers to get video recording of the presentations of the students participating in the patriotic songs and poetry recitals being organized at the school level. The video recording of the best participant selected from each school will be sent to the Block Education Officer. After this, after reviewing these recordings, the best participant will be selected at the block level. The selected recording will be sent to the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET).
According to the criteria set by the Yogi government, a three-member committee formed under the direction of the DIET Principal will evaluate these video recordings. Three best participants will be selected from each district and their information will be sent to the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). After this, these videos will be evaluated by experts at the state level and the 10 best participants will be selected, who will be awarded at the state level function.
For the selection of poetry recitation, Yogi government has set criteria like relevance of the topic, presentation, correctness of language, originality and quality of the video. The video recording of poetry recitation will be of maximum 2-3 minutes and clarity of its voice is also mandatory. This competition is an effective step towards honing the talent of the students and awakening national spirit among them.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 3,52,500 for organizing this competition and distributing prizes. The first, second and third position participants selected at the state level will be awarded cash prize of Rs 5,000, Rs 4,000 and Rs 3,000 and certificates respectively. The three best participants at the district level will be rewarded with cash and certificates of Rs 2,100, Rs 1,500 and Rs 1,100 respectively.
Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said that this initiative has been started with the inspiration of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. It will provide an opportunity to children to uncover their hidden talents. It will also inspire them towards patriotism and creative thinking. Under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, the Yogi government is organizing a competition to encourage creativity and patriotic feelings among children. These awards and certificates will be provided to boost the morale of the children.
