Earthquake felt in Doda, intensity 3.7 on Richter scale

Srinagar, October 20 (IANS). Earthquake tremors were felt in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. This is the second time in the last 29 hours that people have felt tremors.

Doda was shaken by earthquake at 11.21 am on Sunday morning. According to the National Seismology Centre, the intensity has been measured at 3.7 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was found at a depth of 5 kilometers under the earth, at latitude 33.00 degrees north and longitude 75.94 degrees east. There has been no news of any damage due to the earthquake.

The earth shook for the second time within 29 hours. Earlier on Saturday, an earthquake of 4.3 magnitude had occurred in Doda. At around 6.15 pm, there were strong tremors in Chenaba valley of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the National Center for Seismology, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 hit the Chenab Valley, with the epicenter being Gundoh area of ​​Doda district.

Even on October 13, people felt earthquake tremors in Doda. On the same day, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred in Guwahati district of Assam. On October 12, earthquake tremors were also felt in Himachal Pradesh at 3 pm.
