Banihal, September 18 (IANS). Voting for the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections is going on on Wednesday. Enthusiasm is being seen among the voters regarding voting. BJP candidate from Banihal seat Salim Bhatt cast his vote. He praised the arrangements made by the Election Commission.
Salim Bhatt told IANS, “I want to congratulate PM Modi. I want to thank PM Modi and the Election Commission for conducting elections in Jammu and Kashmir. I thank all the election officials and district officials. Voting is going on peacefully in the state. This is a very good system. People should vote according to their wish. Everyone has the right to choose their government. BJP brought the message of brotherhood in the country. Every poor got a house and free ration.”
IANS also spoke to voters to find out on which issues the common people voted in the assembly elections being held here after about 10 years. An elderly man from Kulgam said after casting his vote at the polling booth, “My vote is for democratic rights. I have come to cast my vote for prosperity, peace and democratic rights.”
Aqib from Kulgam says that we have come here to cast our vote so that the people of the state can get convenience. We hope that the candidate who wins will do good work for us. The people of the state should definitely come out of their homes and vote. I am seeing very few people here right now. I hope that as soon as the morning time is over, people will come to cast their votes early.
