Patna, September 14 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution B.L. Verma said here on Saturday that the way the workers are showing enthusiasm and passion for the membership drive in Bihar, it is certain that not only will we exceed the target in terms of making members, but the previous record will also be broken.
Verma reached Patna today after touring various districts of Bihar for three days. In a press conference held at the BJP state office, he said that this time the target has been set to make 10 crore members, but the way the workers are enthusiastic, it is certain that we will surpass the target.
He said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country in 2014, he faced many challenges. The condition of the country at that time was not hidden from anyone. Corruption was rampant everywhere. The Prime Minister faced those challenges and brought the country on the path of development. He said that the government worked for the poor, women, youth and farmers. The report of Niti Aayog shows that during this period, 25 crore people in the country came out of the quagmire of poverty.
He said that people from all sections, societies and all religions are joining BJP in this membership drive. BJP is a political party which is dedicated to the empowerment and upliftment of every Indian since the first day of its establishment. He appealed to the people to become active participants in the National Navnirman Abhiyan and become members of the Bharatiya Janata Party to give their invaluable contribution in building a developed India.
Earlier, Verma visited Saran, Bettiah, Bagaha, Siwan, Motihari, Gopalganj and Raxaul and held meetings regarding the membership drive being run there and met dignitaries.
