Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to the families of the people of the state killed by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir and assured them of all possible help.
According to a release issued by the office of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday, the Maharashtra government has requested the Ministry of Civil Aviation to arrange a special flight to bring back the bodies of five people of the state killed in a terrorist attack.
According to officials, on Tuesday, militants attacked the tourist destination, known as ‘Mini Switzerland’ near Pahalgam city in Kashmir, in which at least 26 people were killed and several others were injured.
Officials said the dead included two foreigners (from the United Arab Emirates and Nepal) and two locals.
Fadnavis said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ on Tuesday night that he has spoken to the families of some tourists from Nagpur and Pune, who was injured in the terrorist attack and assured them of all possible help.
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde, Civil Aviation Minister K.K. Talked to Rammohan Naidu over the phone and requested to arrange a special flight to bring the dead bodies and his relatives back to Maharashtra.
A release issued by Shinde’s office said, “Five tourists from the state have been killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.”
The statement said, “After getting the list of tourists from the Jammu and Kashmir administration (Maharashtra’s tourists), arrangements will be made to bring everyone back soon.” The release said that Naidu has accepted the request.
