Amid a demand to ban actor Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film ‘Sardar G-3’, the Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab’s cultural cell convenor and famous actor Hobby Dhaliwal announced a press conference to give full support of the party to Diljit. Hobby Dhaliwal said that “Diljit is not just an artist, but an international face of Punjabi culture.” He has said that the film on which controversy is being created was shot long before the Pahalgam incident and cultural exchange was common between the two countries at that time.

He said that Diljit’s demand for cancellation of citizenship and banning his films is inspired by politics, baseless and unfortunate. Hobby said, “Diljit is the son of this earth, Punjab and India also stand with him.” Hobby Dhaliwal said that every citizen is a patriot, but it is wrong to target an artist in the name of patriotism. He bluntly said that “BJP is standing firmly with Diljit Dosanjh”. BJP Media Cell chief Vineet Joshi was also present at the press conference.
Let me tell you that after the ever increasing controversy, Diljit Dosanjh and filmmakers decided that the release of ‘Sardarji 3’ would be limited to foreign markets only. This decision has been taken with the aim of avoiding any kind of conflict.
