There will be many major changes in the country in the coming days, as the Union Cabinet met under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday. Many important decisions were taken in this meeting, including the decision to remove the fee on UPI payment up to Rs 2,000. Apart from this, big decisions were also taken for the farmers, not only funds were allocated to promote the dairy industry, but it was also announced to start the National Gokul Mission to increase milk production. The construction of highways has also been approved to increase the speed of vehicles in the country. Know which more important issues arose in this meeting.
Big decision on UPI payment
Small shopkeepers were given relief in the meeting, for which the government has approved an incentive scheme of estimated Rs 1,500 crore. This meeting will promote ‘person to businessman’ (P2M) low-price Bhima-UPI transaction for the financial year 2024-25. For which an incentive scheme has been approved. Under this government scheme, small shopkeepers who accept the payment through UPI will be given an incentive of 0.15 percent on every transaction. However, the scheme will be applicable only to UPI transactions up to Rs 2,000. Along with this, the fee on payment of up to Rs 2000 has also been abolished.
What about farmers?
The Union Cabinet has also decided to end the problems of farmers in this meeting. Let us tell you that urea is the biggest problem during farming in front of the farmers of the country. According to reports, the government took a big decision on ammonia and urea and said that a complex will be built in Assam to meet the needs of fertilizer. This decision of the government will increase urea production. This problem will be solved by creating a new manufacturing center in Assam.
Approval for highway construction
The construction of a 6-lane controlled greenfield highway from JNPA Port (Pagot) to Chowk (29.219 km) in Maharashtra has also been approved. This high-speed highway will cost a total of Rs 100 crore. It will be constructed at a cost of Rs 4500.62 crore, which will be developed on build, operate and transfer (BOT) mode. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information. He said that urban areas like Pulsapa Phata, D-Point, Kalamboli Junction, Panvel remain crowded, due to which it takes 2 to 3 hours to reach NH-48 from JNPA ports and Mumbai-Pune Expressway from JNPA port. After its construction, the travel time during the traffic jam will be significantly reduced.
Gokul mission begins
The fourth major decision taken in the cabinet meeting was to start the National Gokul Mission. The purpose of this mission is to increase milk production in the country. For this, the government has released a budget of Rs 3,400 crore. In this we have to ensure how to increase milk production? How can farmers be provided facilities near their villages? Apart from this, farmers can also be attracted towards the dairy industry. Let us tell you that in 2023-24 the total milk production in the country was 23.9 million liters, which has been started in 2025 to increase this mission.
Dearness allowance was not announced.
Apart from this, crores of central employees were also expected to make a big announcement in the cabinet meeting. However, no update regarding DA was released in this meeting. Employees’ organizations had demanded from the government to increase the dearness allowance by 3 percent. According to media reports, the government may soon make a big announcement about this.
