New Delhi, September 15 (IANS). Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced his resignation from the post of Chief Minister and called for holding assembly elections in Delhi along with Maharashtra in November. While addressing the workers, he categorically said that now he will sit on the post of Chief Minister only when the people of Delhi declare him victorious in this election. BJP leader Kapil Mishra has reacted sharply to this announcement of the CM.
BJP leader Kapil Mishra said in his reaction, “Finally a corrupt Chief Minister had to leave his post. The people of Delhi have won a big victory. Today is a day of celebration. We had said that a corrupt Chief Minister will have to resign from his post. First Sheila lost, and now it is Kejriwal’s turn. This is the same man who was not ready to resign even from inside the jail. He was saying that he will run the government from jail, but today when the Supreme Court took action, he has to leave his post. Today the Chief Minister has to resign.”
He said that the Chief Minister had gone to campaign for the same issue in the Lok Sabha elections, which his party leaders and his wife were also involved in, but the people of Delhi gave them their answer by giving their mandate. The people of Delhi have made it clear that they consider Kejriwal dishonest and corrupt. They believe that Kejriwal’s real place is jail. He said, “I challenge that whether elections are held in Delhi in November or February, Kejriwal will never sit on the CM’s chair again.”
It is noteworthy that after getting bail from the Supreme Court in the excise policy case, Chief Minister Kejriwal, while addressing the workers, has announced his resignation after two days. He said that in the meantime, there will be a meeting of the legislative party, in which further strategy will be decided. Along with this, he has called for holding elections in November itself. By the way, assembly elections are likely in Delhi in February.
