Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai had to pay a huge price to protest against the government by landing in a pit in Varanasi. An FIR has been lodged against Ajay Rai and 10 other Congressmen at Sigra police station. It is alleged that he demonstrated on the road without permission and disrupted traffic. The incident took place on Thursday evening when Ajay Rai along with his supporters landed in a gap dug under the overbridge in front of the Cantt railway station and exposed the negligence of the government. During this protest, a procession was taken out at the English line intersection, which led to the jam.

An FIR was lodged on the complaint of Vidyas in -charge Sub -Inspector Vikal Shandilya. The FIR has been recorded under sections 285, 326, 126 (2) and 191 (2). Police say that people going to ambulance and railway station faced a lot of trouble due to the protest.

Ajay Rai has reacted sharply to this action. He has described it as a politics of hate and has announced to start ‘Pol-Khol’ protests across the state from Saturday. He also said that Congress workers will take to the streets and submit a memorandum to the Governor.
