First vision: Difference of leadership

First vision: Difference of leadership

The victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the capital election of the capital Delhi and the defeat of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Arvind Kejriwal have different meanings. The BJP has been considering Delhi as its stronghold and the party’s organization has been strong here. Since the days of the Jana Sangh, it has been a political work place of many veteran leaders including Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani. Despite this, the BJP had not won the Delhi Assembly elections for the last 27 years. In the politics of the Center, the party could not hold power in Delhi Pradesh to win three consecutive Lok Sabha elections under the rise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and under his leadership. Obviously, after such a long gap, this time the decisive victory in the Delhi elections has boosted the morale of party leaders and workers.

You were in power in Delhi for more than ten years, which won a tremendous victory in the last two elections. In 2011, the AAP, originating from the womb of the anti -corruption movement led by Anna Hazare, wooed the voters of the country’s capital so much that for more than a decade, he was in power there. Despite differences with Anna Hazare and many fellow leaders of the early stages, Arvind Kejriwal made his inroads in the national level politics after a consecutive victory in the Delhi assembly elections and emerged as a major voice of the anti -BJP camp. In 2022, some political commentators started seeing him as the leading leader of the third front due to the Aam Aadmi Party’s huge victory in Punjab and the growing political height of Kejriwal. But, after that his image slowly began to fade. At some point, despite being the most strong leader of the campaign against corruption, his own government in Delhi could not escape the alleged allegations of corruption and many ministers of the party, including Kejriwal, had to go to jail. As soon as this election, it seemed that in Delhi, especially the middle class had become disillusioned with them. Despite this, it is too early to say that this defeat has set the political career of Kejriwal. They could not save their seat, but this time you have got a lot of public support, which can be understood by the percentage of the vote. However, it cannot be denied that Kejriwal and his party need to seriously introspect what reasons the people of Delhi rejected him.

Significantly, more Congress should need to introspect more than you. The country’s oldest party, which took over the reins of the country’s politics from Delhi for decades, has demonstrated worse in the last few Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. The party’s performance can be assessed from the fact that the Congress could not even open its account in the Delhi elections in the last three assembly elections. In fact, in the last ten years, the BJP and AAP have been directly competing in the Delhi assembly elections and the Congress has been rejected by the people every time. Many electoral experts are of the opinion that this time the Congress and AAP should have fought under the pre -election alliance as anti -BJP votes were scattered in the triangular contest. Despite being united at the central level, both the constituents of India Block could not settle any kind of alliance or seat in the Delhi Assembly elections. Despite this, it would not be appropriate to say that by contesting elections with both, the final decision would have been different, although this made the BJP’s way of victory easier.

Whenever the BJP wins in the triangular assembly elections, it is said that it got the direct benefit of the opposition not being united, but elections have been held in states where the BJP won despite a direct competition. The biggest reason for this is Brand Modi. Even though the BJP calls itself a party of workers, it cannot be denied that Modi’s leadership has proved to be a trump card in every election. This time in the Delhi Assembly elections, the people voted in the name of Modi because the party did not have any local leader on whose strength voters could be brought into their court. The top leadership of the BJP is its greatest strength, which its opponents do not have the answer. The Congress is still the largest party in India block, but the irony is that the regional party of different provinces of the country is not ready to accept Rahul Gandhi at the national level, it is far from the elections of the states. Due to the question of leadership and personal ambitions of opposition leaders, there is always impossible of the anti-Modi parties and there is no need to tell how much damage is being done by it.
