Congress MP Rahul Gandhi filed an application in a Pune court claiming that his life is serious. The application has been filed in a defamation case associated with his comment on Savarkar. Referring to the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, he said that history should not be allowed to repeat itself.
Rahul Gandhi in his application claimed that the recent political issues raised by him and earlier comments on Savarkar have increased the threat to his safety. The complainant is a direct descendant of Nathuram Godse in this case. The complainant’s family has a documented history of violence and unconstitutional activities.
Rahul Gandhi said that it is a clear, logical and concrete apprehension that I can be harmed, trapped in false cases or target in other ways. The complainant’s family has a history of violence. History should not be allowed to repeat itself. He made this statement in the context of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
Claims of threats from BJP leaders
Rahul Gandhi also said that his political opponents were enraged by allegations of ‘vote theft’. He claimed that he had received two public threats from the BJP. Among them, Union Minister Ravinat Singh Bittu called him ‘the country’s number one terrorist’. At the same time, BJP leader Tarwinder Singh Marwah also threatened. Rahul Gandhi urged the court to take these threats seriously for their safety, as the threat to his life is real and serious.
This step is completely irrelevant: Satyaki Savarkar
At the same time, Savarkar’s grandson Satyaki Savarkar said that this application was filed long ago, but the matter is being deliberately delayed by him (Rahul). This move of Rahul Gandhi is completely irrelevant. The court has already made it clear that Rahul Gandhi’s personal presence is not necessary for the hearing of the case, yet he is delaying the proceedings. His application is not related to the case in any way and there is no justification.
