Five Palestinians killed in Israeli bombing in Gaza

Gaza/Jerusalem, October 24 (IANS). At least five Palestinians, including a doctor and a municipal worker, have been killed in Israeli bombing in the Gaza Strip.

According to Xinhua news agency, sources said on Wednesday that Mohammed Ganem, a doctor at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip, died in an Israeli drone attack.

The Gaza Municipality said in a press statement that two of its employees operating water wells in the east of the city’s Tuffah neighborhood were targeted and killed by Israeli forces. The statement condemned the Israeli attack and urged the international body to immediately investigate the incident.

Additionally, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that a vehicle south of the central Gaza city of Deir al-Balah was targeted in an Israeli strike, killing two Palestinians and wounding several others.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle belonged to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The dead and injured were transported to Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah.

Palestinian sources reported that Israeli aircraft carried out several strikes targeting residential homes in northern, central and southern Gaza, killing and injuring several Palestinians.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Wednesday that it had stepped up attacks in the Jabaliya area of ​​northern Gaza. Several terrorists have been killed and weapons recovered in the attacks.

The IDF said Israeli forces had arrested more than 150 militants in Jabaliya and transported them to Israel. While citizens “are allowed to evacuate safely through routes arranged for their safety.”
