The condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike for the last 42 days demanding the demands of farmers, “deteriorated” and his blood pressure fell. The doctors present at the protest site gave this information.
Earlier, the high-powered committee constituted by the Supreme Court on Monday met farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal (70), who is fasting unto death at the Khanauri border of Punjab and Haryana.
The committee headed by former Punjab and Haryana High Court judge Nawab Singh requested Dallewal to seek medical help.
Dallewal, convenor of the United Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), is on a fast unto death from November 26, 2024, demanding various demands of farmers including legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) for crops.
Doctors said that Dallewal’s blood pressure had fallen to 80/56 and was fluctuating.
Dr. Avtar Singh said, “His condition has deteriorated.” His blood pressure has dropped rapidly. We are worried seeing his condition. We cannot give him any medical help.
Singh, who is part of the team of NGO ‘5 Rivers Heart Association’, said, “We raised his legs after which his blood flow improved slightly.” He said that Dallewal’s blood pressure was fluctuating.
