The Congress said on Thursday before the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and Britain that there is also a need for “fugitive extradition agreement” to bring back people like Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi back to India.
Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh took a sarcasm that these three big stars of Modi government’s “fugitives” are waiting for their homecoming.
India and Britain will sign a free trade agreement in London on Thursday. This will make it possible to export labor-dominated products such as leather, shoes and clothing at concessional rates while the import of whiskey and cars from Britain will be cheaper.
The agreement will help double the trade between the two economies to $ 120 billion by 2030.
Jairam Ramesh posted on ‘X’, “In the presence of Prime Minister Modi, the Indo-Britain FTA (Free Trade Agreement) will be signed in London today. But India should do another necessary FTA from Britain- ‘Fusitive Transfer Agreement’ (Fugitive Extradition Agreement). “
Taking a sarcasm, he said, “Finally, three big stars of Modi model, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi -are still waiting for their homecoming and it is also possible to get some more names in this list soon.”
