New Delhi, September 15 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a visit to Jharkhand on Sunday. Where he inaugurated and dedicated several projects in Jamshedpur. On reaching Ranchi, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state vice-president Aarti Kujur with ‘Java’, the symbol of Karma festival.
Aarti Kujur, who put the Jawad on PM Modi’s ears, had a special conversation with IANS. She told what PM Modi talked to her about and also learned about the Karma festival of Jharkhand.
He said that Jharkhand is the land of Lord Birsa Munda and heroes. We welcome Prime Minister Modi and today we got the opportunity to welcome him at Ranchi airport. On September 14, on Bhadrapada Ekadashi, Jharkhand’s great festival Karma festival was celebrated and puja was performed at night, on such an occasion Prime Minister Modi came to Jharkhand. Karma festival is a festival of brothers and sisters, both sisters and brothers fast for each other, as well as wish for longevity, health and success.
He said that after sowing, it is time for the harvest, so we also pray to God for a good harvest. This is the festival of Karma and I had the privilege of giving Java in this festival.
Aarti Kujur further told that we had taken a lot of things to the airport, at first the security and local administration refused to let us take them. But, when we said that this Jawa is for Puja, then they allowed us to bring it. When I gave Jawa to Prime Minister Modi, he asked about its importance. I told PM Modi everything about Karma festival, Jawa. He was happy and when he asked whom do we give it to, I said that Jawa sisters give it to their brothers. I told him that it is not held in the hand. There is a tradition of wearing it on the ears of brothers, so I gave it to him, and he was really very happy to know about the festival and tradition here. I also said that you are working for so many sisters, so this is a prayer to God on behalf of all the sisters, this is the blessing of all the sisters of Jharkhand that you stay healthy, stay safe and keep working like this.
In the end, he told that PM Modi came to know about the tradition of Jharkhand and while expressing happiness said that it is because of the love of all you sisters that I am able to do all this work.
