'Good days starting after years for those living in slums in Delhi: CM Rekha Gupta

After inaugurating several development projects in her constituency Shalimar Bagh, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that ‘good days’ for those living in slums are starting, as ‘actually’ work will be done for slums and colonies.

The Chief Minister said that the amount of Rs 700 crore in the Delhi Urban Shelter Reform Board (DUSIB) is for the welfare of the slums and 52,000 flats built 10 years ago will now be given to the slums after renewal.

Criticizing the previous governments, CM Gupta said that he did not work for those living in slums and misled people that the BJP government will not work for them, but today the BJP government is taking care of every poor and ensuring basic facilities, water, parks, toilets for them.

Talking to reporters, the Chief Minister said, “Today we have started the construction of a drain in this slum area. After years, good days are starting for those living in the slums. Now their slums and colonies will be done. The previous governments did not care about those living in slums, they used to use them as a vote bank. Will give a message to those living in slums starting here today that the BJP government is taking care of every poor under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

CM Gupta said, “The Delhi government is committed to completing these tasks. A fund of Rs 700 crore in the Delhi Urban Shelter Reforms Board (DUSIB) is especially for the welfare of the slums and moreover, 52,000 flats that were ready to live 10 years ago, we will renew them and give them to the slums.”

Earlier today, the Chief Minister of Delhi inaugurated several development projects in his constituency Shalimar Bagh.

Addressing the public at Shalimar Bagh, CM Gupta said, “Today we are starting water supply from here, in which you will get supply from 6 am to 8 am, and you will get supply for half an hour in the evening too. You did not get water in the evening, now you will get water twice a day.”

Earlier on Monday, CM Rekha Gupta called a high -level review meeting with the District Magistrates of all 11 revenue districts of the city. The main objective of the meeting was to assess administrative and developmental progress in revenue districts, resolve local issues and strengthen coordination between various departments.

According to the release, CM Gupta said that in the discussion, major topics such as administrative demonstrations, public service distribution, land disputes, encroachments, digitization of land ownership, records, disaster management preparations and ensuring transparency in revenue offices were discussed. He directed all DMs to inspect the field regularly and to have active communication with the citizens.

The CM of Delhi said, “Today the review meeting with all DMs was very important. We discussed the status of civil services, progress of e-district services, grievance redressal mechanisms, land record digitization and disaster preparations. All officers were given clear instructions to provide transparent, time and civil-focused services. All public service procedures require accountability and sensitivity to all public service processes.

He directed strict action against the government’s zero tolerance policy towards corruption and any irregularity, especially in matters related to the EWS category.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to keep a strict monitoring of problems like waterlogging, cleaning, encroachment and traffic jam in their districts. He insisted that dealing with these everyday challenges should be an administrative priority.
