New Delhi, September 18 (IANS). The Modi government at the Centre passed the ‘One Nation-One Election’ on Wednesday. Now this bill will be presented in the House. Political rhetoric has intensified regarding this.
Congress MP from Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, Manickam Tagore said, “This is a failed idea. The people of India have rejected them in the 2024 elections. Now PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah want to divert the attention of the people of the country through this. This is an attack on our federal nature. India Alliance opposes this and it will be opposed in the House as well.”
He said, “Doing this is beyond reality and it is against the diversity of India. India is a country that respects diversity and different states and religions. We all know that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the people of the country have rejected PM Modi. Due to this, BJP came down from 303 to 240 seats.”
Madhya Pradesh Congress state president Jitu Patwari has also given his reaction on this. He said that the Congress party will give its opinion on this. The citizens and patriots here never step back for any reform in the country.
He said that unemployment is the biggest issue in the country. The government should have worked on it in the last 10 years. It should have worked on doubling the income of farmers. In the country, the rich are becoming richer and the poor are becoming poorer.
Let us tell you that the Union Cabinet approved the proposal of ‘One Nation-One Election’ on Wednesday. The Cabinet has approved the report of the committee headed by Ram Nath Kovind.
The committee led by Ram Nath Kovind has already submitted its report on ‘One Nation-One Election’ to the central government. It has suggested that the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections should be held simultaneously in the country. Apart from this, the committee has recommended that the local body elections should also be held soon after the completion of Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.
