Government will now take public opinion on ‘one country-one election’, JPC prepares for launch advertisement and website

A nation, the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), formed for an election, met on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by JPC President PP Chaudhary. During this time the members of the committee discussed the subject in detail and heard the opinion of experts. Today’s meeting was invited to former Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Rajendra Menon. Both experts presented their detailed views and insight on the legal and constitutional complications of the ‘one nation, one election’. Now the committee has planned to take public opinion on this issue and for this advertisements will also be given in newspapers.

The members asked many questions.

JPC President PP Chaudhary said that members of the committee related to various political parties had asked many questions on this subject. He said, “All members are working keeping in mind the national interest and JPC is working above any kind of party politics.” He also clarified that all the doubts of the members are being resolved and other legal experts will also be invited to discuss all aspects of the subject intensively.

JPC will launch advertising and website

JPC has decided to launch a comprehensive campaign to find out the public opinion. Under this, advertisements will be given in newspapers and media outlets so that people can share their views. The advertisements will also have QR codes, so that people will be able to visit the dedicated website directly and present their opinion. JPC said that this website will be started soon, where not only the stakeholders but also the general public will be able to share their views.

Next meeting on 17 March

The next meeting of JPC will be held on 17 March. Many other legal experts will be called to discuss this subject deeply.
