Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Friday that the assessment of the damage caused by Pakistani shelling is almost complete and his government will raise the issue before the Center to provide relief to the victims.
Abdullah told reporters, “The assessment is almost complete. Reports are awaited from two districts. After receiving the report, we will take up the matter before the Government of India and try to prepare (relief) package. “
The Chief Minister also thanked for the visit of opposition leaders, including the Trinamool Congress delegation, in the areas affected by Pakistani shelling after ‘Operation Sindoor’.
OmarAbdullah said, “Rahul Gandhi will visit Poonch on Saturday and talk to the victims. I am particularly grateful to Trinamool leaders who have come first. He first went to Poonch and is now in Rajouri. From these trips, we feel that people are standing with us in this difficult time. “
Recently, bypassing the question related to the BJP’s claim of passing the proposals passed by the National Conference’s Working Committee at the behest of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI, Abdullah said, “Okay. Let them say.”
The Chief Minister refused to comment on the charge sheet filed by the CBI against former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik.
The central agency said on Thursday that it had filed a charge sheet against Malik and seven others in connection with alleged corruption in contracts related to work worth Rs 2,200 crore for the Kiru Hydropower Project in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
