Two officers of the State Enforcement Bureau were allegedly attacked by suspected mining mafia while inspecting illegal mining activity in Ghata Shamshabad village of Nuh district of Haryana, injuring them. Police gave this information.
Police said that the accused also forcibly released a tractor-trolley that was seized for illegal mining work.
Based on the complaint of Inspector Surajmal, in-charge of Nuh police station of Haryana State Enforcement Bureau, an FIR has been registered against three named accused and 22 unidentified persons under the provisions of the Indian Code of Justice and other laws at Firozpur Jhirka police station.
Surajmal alleged that he, assistant sub-inspector Rakesh and driver Rafiq were going to Firozpur Jhirka-Biwan Road to inspect an alleged illegal mining operation.
Surajmal told that when they reached near Ghata Shamshabad police post, they tried to stop three tractor-trolleys laden with stones, but the vehicles did not stop.
He alleged, “They diverted the tractor-trolleys towards the forest… A tractor driver went into the village. Two tractor-trolleys were going ahead of me and the driver of one of them vacated the trolley and ran away. After this I Called the in-charge of Firozpur Jhirka police station for help. Within some time, 20-25 people came and started pelting stones at us.”
The Inspector said that he and his companions were injured in the stone pelting and they could escape from there with great difficulty.
He told that during this time someone ran away with a tractor-trolley.
According to the complaint, after some time the police station in-charge of Firozpur Jhirka arrived with his mining department team, but by then the accused had fled.
Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against Muli, Arsad, Dhola and 22 others.
Firozpur Jhirka police station in-charge Aman Singh said, “We are conducting raids to nab the accused and they will be arrested soon.”
