Haryana: Protest intensifies in Khanauri! 10 farmers started indefinite hunger strike in support of Dallewal

Showing solidarity with farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on an indefinite fast in support of various demands of the farmers, 10 more farmers have sat on a fast unto death at the Khanauri agitation site.

Apart from Dallewal, 111 farmers of Punjab are sitting on indefinite fast for the last three days.

Addressing journalists at the Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana, farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar said that 10 farmers from Hisar, Sonipat, Panipat and Jind districts of Haryana started the fast unto death on Friday.

The farmer leader said, “Today the farmers of the country are ready to sacrifice their lives by following the path shown by Dallewal ji. The farmers of the country understand that Dallewal ji is on hunger strike for 53 days to save his land, farming and the coming generation. But we all stand shoulder to shoulder with them.”

Meanwhile, farmer leaders said Dallewal’s health was “deteriorating” and he vomited three-four times on Thursday night. He is able to drink only 150-200 ml of water.

Farmers had earlier said that Dallewal’s drinking of water had reduced and whenever he drank water, he vomited. He has refused to seek any medical attention during his fast.

Farmers under the banner of Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana since February 13 last year, when security forces stopped them from imposing minimum support price (MSP) on the central government. They were stopped from marching to Delhi to pressurize them to accept other demands including legal guarantee of Rs.

SKM (Non-Political) convenor Dallewal is on an indefinite fast at the Khanauri border since November 26 last year demanding various demands of the farmers.
