Political activities are intense in Manipur. Earlier on Wednesday, news had come from here that Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United (JDU) has withdrawn its support to the BJP-led government in Manipur.

The letter sent by JDU’s state unit to the Governor regarding this was also shared on social media. But after a few hours, JDU spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan came in front of the media and clarified on this. He clearly said that JDU is a part of NDA in Manipur and has full support to the government. Apart from this, he said that the party is with NDA in other states including Bihar.

Assembly elections will be held in 2022.

Let us tell you that JDU is a part of NDA in the state from 2022. According to the information, JDU has only one MLA in the state. Earlier in November 2024, NPP had withdrawn its support from NDA. There are total 60 assembly seats in Manipur. Manipur has a government led by Biren Singh. NDA has absolute majority to run the government.

Five JDU MLAs have joined BJP.

JDU has won a total of 6 seats in the 2022 assembly elections. But after this, five MLAs have joined BJP one by one. Currently only Mohammad Abdul Nasir is part of JDU. Let us tell you that at present BJP has 37 MLAs in the state. The government is supported by the Naga People’s Front and independent MLAs in the state.
