Maharashtra News Desk !!! Heavy rains worsened the situation in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. Trains, buses, flights were all disrupted and passengers were stranded for hours. According to BMC data, between 5 pm and 10 pm, Mumbai’s Mankhurd received the highest rainfall of 276 mm. Bhandup received 275 mm and Powai received 274 mm of rain. Sewri Koliwada and Wadala areas recorded more than 145 mm of rain and the western region recorded the highest rainfall of 190 mm.

In just a few hours, Mumbai received so much rain. The situation has worsened so much that schools and colleges have been closed for the next day (today, 26 September). People have been appealed not to leave their homes. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai and adjoining districts Thane, Palghar and Raigad till 8:30 am on Thursday, September 26.
