Congress government formed under the leadership of Sheila Dixit

Sheila Dixit’s journey
Sheila Dixit’s political journey was very interesting. He was born on 31 March 1938 in Kapurthala, a Punjabi Hindu Khatri family in Punjab. After getting education in Delhi, in 1962 he married IAS officer Vinod Dixit. IAS officer Vinod Dixit was a resident of Unnao. After such marriage, Sheila Dixit called the daughter -in -law of UP. Sheila Dixit’s father -in -law Uma Shankar Dixit was a former Union Minister and Governor. Influenced by the political atmosphere, Sheela entered politics in 1969.
Minister of State in Rajiv Gandhi government
In 1984, the Congress nominated him from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat. After winning the election, she became the Minister of State in the Rajiv Gandhi government. She lost this seat in 1989. In 1998, the Congress made him the Delhi Congress President and fielded Kirti Azad from Gol Market seat in the assembly elections. The Congress won a strong majority in the election and Sheila Dixit became the Chief Minister of Delhi.
