Hyderabad, 26 February (IANS). Andhra Pradesh Police has given Telugu actor and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Posani Krishna Murali as Chief Minister N. Arrested from Hyderabad for making alleged derogatory remarks against Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh.
A team of Andhra Pradesh Police arrested Posani from his residence in My Home Bhuj apartments located in Redurg area of Hyderabad on Wednesday night. The actor objected to the police action. He was taken by the police team to Andhra Pradesh by road.
In the last few months, police of various districts have registered cases against Posani.
In November 2024, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Andhra Pradesh filed a case against Posani on the complaint of Bandaru Vamasikrishna, leader of Telugu Yuvatha, a youth wing of Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
The complainant said that Posani made false allegations against Chandrababu Naidu during a press conference in September last year and made derogatory comments. He alleged that the actor’s comments tarnished the Chief Minister’s image.
A case has been registered against Posani under sections 111, 196, 353, 299, 341, 336 (3) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).
Earlier, a case was registered against Posani against Posani on the complaint of some TDP leaders for making alleged derogatory remarks against Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and IT Minister Nara Lokesh at RIMS Police Station in Kadappa district.
In Rajmundari, Jan Sena leaders had also filed a complaint against Posani for making alleged derogatory remarks against Pawan Kalyan and his family members. Cases were registered against the actor in Kadappa, Chittoor, Tirupati, Anantapur, Palnadu and Baptala.
TDP, Jan Sena and BJP coalition government is taking action against the social media workers and its supporters of YSRCP, who posted derogatory material against TDP and Jan Sena leaders while YSRCP’s power.
Similar cases were registered against controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma for posting derogatory posts against Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and Lokesh.
