West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Sunday that she is distressed by the helicopter accident near the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand. All seven people riding helicopter died in this accident.
Officials said that seven people, including a helicopter driver, an employee of the Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee and five pilgrims, were killed in the accident.
Mamta Banerjee posted on the social media platform ‘X’, “This morning there is a sad news of another civilian aviation accident and this time from Kedarnath-Gaurikund-Guptkashi area of Uttarakhand. A total of seven people were riding in the helicopter, including a child and the driver. ”
He wrote, “We are waiting for the result of the rescue and search campaign to come out. My prayers are with every person in the helicopter. ”According to officials, the helicopter left Kedarnath for Guptkashi at around 5.30 am and crashed shortly after. The site of the accident is said to be near ‘Gauri Mai Khark’, about five kilometers above Gaurikund.
