Lucknow, September 4 (IANS). ‘Teachers’ Day’ is celebrated every year on September 5. On this special occasion, the role of teachers in the society is highlighted.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed concern over the pathetic condition of teachers before ‘Teachers’ Day’ and said, “If anyone is most unhappy today, it is the teachers. We cannot deny the fact that teachers have played an important role in nation building and will continue to do so in the future.”
He further said, “We assure all of you that we will work towards making the coming generation mentally strong. We will take steps towards providing them strong education. If we want our coming generations to be strong, then for this we will have to give special emphasis on education. If we ignore it, it will become an obstacle in the development of our society, so to avoid this, we will have to give special emphasis on the prosperity of teachers.”
He said, “Many great men have emphasized that if we want to bring about development and change in the society, then we will have to emphasize on education. If our society is educated, only then will we be able to decide between right and wrong. Only then will we be able to understand the difference between right and wrong. For this, we will have to emphasize on education.”
He further said, “You can see how vast the field of education is. But, it is unfortunate that questions are being raised on the recruitment of teachers in the state. In such a situation, another question arises that why are these questions being raised at all.”
The SP chief stressed that the number of teachers who should have been recruited till now, has not been recruited yet. I have no hesitation in saying that the government is being negligent in recruiting teachers, due to which the education of our children is getting affected. In such a situation, we need to take corrective steps in this direction, but the current attitude of the government clearly shows that it has nothing to do with the current condition of teachers. If it had, then some steps would have definitely been taken in this direction by now.
