If Pakistan does not hand over POK to us, India should declare war: Athawale

“If Pakistan refuses to hand over to the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), India should declare a war against it, as as long as this area is present, terrorist activities will continue”. This is to say that Union Minister Ramdas Athawale.

In fact, talking to reporters in Lonavala on Sunday, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 26 people lost their lives on 22 April.

The tension between India and Pakistan has increased after the attack in Jammu and Kashmir last week. Terrorists opened fire at the popular tourist destination Besaron in the upper areas of Pahalgam in Anantnag district, killing 26 people, most of which were tourists.

Calling another surgical strike against the neighboring country, Athawale said, “As long as PoK is present, terrorist activities will continue. I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi that if Pakistan does not hand over PoK, we should declare the war against them.”

He said that the Pahalgam attack is extremely condemnable. The minister said, “Terrorists repeatedly enter India by the same route. Therefore, India should control the PoK region.” He warned that Pakistan will have to vacate this area, otherwise India will not hesitate to wage war, and the Center is serious about the matter.

Athawale urged the opposition to support the government on the issue. He said, “The opposition should stand with us. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar has taught us to stand with the country when needed.”

The minister said, “The number of tourists has increased after the removal of Article 370. A large number of voters have started coming to Kashmir. Voting in Jammu and Kashmir elections was around 60 percent. Terrorists and Pakistan are not happy with these developments. He said that India is getting stronger and the people of Jammu and Kashmir, including Muslims, are with the country. “
