If Tharoor is feeling suffocated in the party, then he should choose his path: K. Muralidharan

Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Shashi Tharoor is constantly facing strong criticism of the Kerala unit of the Congress due to his acts, which has brought the party into a difficult situation.

His article criticizing Indira Gandhi about the Emergency was published in a Malayalam daily a day after senior Congress leader K. Muralitharan on Friday launched a scathing attack on the MP of Thiruvananthapuram and urged him that if he feels helpless within the Congress, he should choose a clear political path.

Muralitharan, referring to Tharoor’s current dual role in the organizational structure of Parliament and the party, said, “They have two ways.”

He told reporters that if there are differences, there is scope to express them within the party. But if they feel that they are unable to remain in the current system, then they should be removed from the posts assigned and choose the political route of their choice.

He said that Tharoor is a member of the working committee and the chairman of the party appointed by the party. The senior leader said that he should move forward by focusing on both his parliamentary responsibilities and the work of the party.

Muralitharan said, “The issues on which his opinion is different can express him by staying within the party.”He said, “But if he feels suffocated to such an extent in the current situation that they cannot remain in the post, then they should leave the posts handed over by the party and choose the political path of their choice.”

Muralitharan emphasized that Tharoor’s political identity would be affected by choosing any other way away from these two available options. He warned that doing so would be harmful for both the party and Tharoor.

He said, “If they move on a path that does not match any of the two, then it becomes a case affecting their personal identity. This will be harmful for both the party and both of them. So as a colleague, I want to tell them that they have to choose one of the two ways. ”

Asked about the purpose of Tharoor to praise leaders of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Muralitharan said that the MPs of Thiruvananthapuram praise everyone except Congress leaders.
