The storm is expected to hit the coast on October 23-24. In view of the storm, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of storm winds at a speed of 100 to 120 km in 4 states of South India. There is also a possibility of heavy rain. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the formation of a cyclonic circulation in the North Andaman Sea is likely to form a low pressure area over the central-east Bay of Bengal. This low pressure area will move into west-northwest Bay of Bengal on the morning of 22 October and will become active as Cyclonic Storm Dana over the central east Bay of Bengal by the morning of 23 October. Cyclone Dana will move towards north-west and will reach the sea of Odisha and West Bengal by the morning of 24 October. Due to the formation of the cyclone, the coastal areas of Northern Tamil Nadu and Southern Andhra Pradesh will also be covered. Due to this, there will be heavy rains in Andaman and Nicobar Islands first. Then there will be cloudy sky and stormy winds in Odisha and West Bengal. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh also. Both rain and storm will continue in these states till October 26.

There will be a storm in East Central Bay of Bengal today at a speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour. Till the evening of 22nd October, the speed of these winds will be 55 to 75 km per hour. On October 23 and 24, winds will blow at a speed of 70 to 100 km per hour. On October 23-24, winds will blow at a speed of 45 to 65 km per hour in the areas adjacent to the Bay of Bengal in West Central. On October 23, winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 60 km per hour in North Bay of Bengal. On October 24-25, the speed of these winds will be 100 to 120 km per hour.
