In Jharkhand, Congress raised the issue of caste census, state in -charge K.K. Raju said- Government will take decision on this soon

Ranchi, 23 February (IANS). In the ruling coalition of Jharkhand, the partner Congress has emphasized the need to start caste census in the state soon. Newly appointed Jharkhand in -charge of Congress K.K. Speaking to the media in Ranchi on Sunday, Raju said that our party leader Rahul Gandhi is raising the issue of ethnic census across the country with great prominence. Our party’s stand on this is completely clear. Ethnic census will reveal a picture of the actual status of different sections of the society.

Of. Raju said that ethnic census was recently conducted in Telangana, in which important data has been obtained regarding the economic, social, educational status of all the castes of the state. Based on this, the government there will decide the policy for the upliftment and welfare of different classes. Similarly, in Jharkhand, we are expecting that the government will take a decision towards caste census.

After a meeting with party MLAs, ministers and prominent leaders of the state unit on Sunday, the Congress in -charge told the media that several important decisions have been taken for the party’s organizational strength in the state. 12 Congress MLAs of the state have been given the responsibility of monitoring organizational programs and activities in two districts. They will hold a meeting with leaders and activists in the respective districts every month and will be aware of the public issues. They will inform the party leadership about the issues coming from among the people. The next one year schedule is being set for these meetings.

Similarly, in the state government, the four ministers of the Congress quota will have to meet once every two months in five divisions of the state and take necessary steps to solve the party organization and public issues. The meeting of the Congress Legislature Party will be held every month in the field of one MLA. Its schedule will decide the leaders of the Congress Legislature Party.

Of. Raju said that in the budget session starting on Monday, Congress MLAs have been instructed to ensure active participation. They have been asked to participate in the discussion related to the demand and grant of each department.
