Chandrakant Raghunath Patil was born on 16 March 1955 in Pimpri Akraut village of Jalgaon district of Maharashtra to police constables Raghunath and Sarubai Patil. In 1953, this family came to Gujarat. Born into an ordinary peasant family, Patil received technical training from his early education in Jalgaon and later from the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Surat. After completing his education, Patil started his service in 1975 as a constable in Maharashtra Police, similar to his father.
