Most of the players honored with prestigious sports awards in India are associated with Railways. The Railway Ministry gave this information in a statement.
According to the statement, out of the 32 players selected for the Arjuna Award in 2024, five (Jyoti Yaraji, Annu Rani, Salima Tete, Swapnil Suresh Kusale and Aman) were associated with the Indian Railways.
According to the statement, these players will be honored by President Draupadi Murmu in a function organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 17.
“With these five Arjuna Awardees, the total number of Arjuna Awardees to the credit of Indian Railways will reach 183,” the statement said. Railways also has 28 Padmashree, 12 Dhyan Chand Award winners, 13 Dronacharya Award winners and 9 Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award winners.”
