India's responsibility of Hindus in Bangladesh, we cannot escape this duty: RSS

Bengaluru, 22 March (IANS). The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said on Saturday that India is responsible for Hindus in Bangladesh and “We cannot escape this duty.”

RSS joint general secretary Arun Kumar made this statement while addressing a press conference during the ongoing All India House of Representatives (ABPS) in Bengaluru.

In response to the question whether persecuted Hindus should be accepted by India, Arun Kumar made a clear statement that the Hindu community in Bangladesh is our responsibility. We cannot avoid this. The India that we proudly call our country, the Hindus of Bangladesh have given the same shape as the Hindus of India.

He further said, “Hindus in Bangladesh should live with peace and happiness. They should contribute to their country, but if there is a difficult situation in the future, we cannot back down. If such a situation comes, we will solve it.”

He emphasized that the history and civilization of India and Bangladesh is the same.

He said, “It is unfortunate that there was a partition in 1947. We divided the land, not the population.

Expressing concern over the situation in Bangladesh, he said, “It should not be seen as a political issue. The rule has changed, but the reason for violence is not the only one. It also has a religious aspect. The primary and continuous goals are Hindus and other minorities. The oppression of Hindus and minorities is not new.”

“This is an existence crisis for the Hindu community in Bangladesh. Recent violence has shown that the Bangladeshi government and its institutions are involved in attacks against Hindus and minorities, which is a serious concern.”

He added, “People responsible for this violence are trying to make it not only anti -Hindu but also anti -India. Many leaders have made statements in this regard. We share cultural and historical relations with our neighboring countries for thousands of years. Efforts are being made to create mistrust and discord between India and its neighbors.”

He also claimed that “there are many international forces behind it. We have discussed the role of Pakistan and the American Deep State. Bangladesh has called for a single standing with the Hindu community.”

When asked if the RSS is satisfied with the central government’s response to the situation of Bangladesh, he said, “This is a continuous process, the issue has not been resolved completely. The government is doing its work, and we have urged him to take all possible action. We are satisfied that the central government has understood the seriousness of this issue, has sent the foreign minister to various places, has been sent to various places.”

He said that we have mentioned this concern in our proposal. Efforts should continue until the normal situation is completely restored.

When asked if India should intervene to restore former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Arun Kumar said, “The people of Bangladesh will decide to restore Sheikh Hasina. They have their own constitution and system. I don’t think any other country needs to intervene in this matter.”
